Analisa Kegagalan Keretakan Permukaan Luar Sudut antara Kepala dan Badan Komponen Yoke Rotor GF21

Abstract


To find the cause of equipment component failures to prevent the same failure happen in the future. Indentifying the cause of the failure so that to make early precautions and to improve the product. Failure analysis made on the Yoke Rotor GF21 component, which happen cracks on the outer layer corner between the head and the body. To use these following tests to identify the failure: Macroscopic, microscopic, chemical composition, hardness, SEM and EDS. The analysis result is based on material analysis and forming process, is caused by the defect on the forging process, especially on dies design. This coupled with the occurrence of decarburization and inclusion in the path of the crack so the crack spread easily. This analysis is supported by the result of stereography visible crack that unbranched crack and signifies that the crack occurred in the forging process.

 

Terjadinya kegagalan komponen peralatan harus dicari penyebab kerusakan yang terjadi untuk mencegah kerusakan yang sama dimasa mendatang. Dengan mengetahui penyebab kerusakan tersebut maka dapat dilakukan pencegahan awal dan dapat dilakukan perbaikan dari produk yang dihasilkan. Analisa kegagalan ini dilakukan pada komponen Yoke Rotor GF21, yaitu kerusakan oleh terjadinya retakan pada permukaan luar sudut antara kepala dan badan. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah Makroskopis, mikroskopis, komposisi kimia, kekerasan, SEM dan EDS. Berdasarkan hasil analisa kegagalan dari bahan baku dan proses pembentukan disebabkan oleh desain proses tempa yang kurang baik khususnya pada desain dies, terjadinya dekarburisasi dan adanya inklusi di jalur retak sehingga retakan dapat menjalar dengan lebih mudah. Analisa ini didukung oleh hasil streography retakan yang terlihat bahwa retakan tidak bercabang dan menandakan bahwa retakan ini terjadi ketika dilakukan proses pembentukan dengan forging.
